Dr Christopher Abraham, Professor and Head of Dubai Campus at SP Jain School of Global Management, was conferred as the Knight of Parte Guelfa in a prestigious ceremony held on November 19 & 20, 2021, at the Santa Croce Basilica in Florence, Italy.
The honour was to represent India on a global stage in the field of ecology and environmental protection. During the ceremony, Dr Abraham was introduced by Andrea Claudio Galluzzo, a multifaceted, award-winning Italian writer, historian, entrepreneur and archaeologist. He got the opportunity to talk about the unique symbiotic connection between humanity, nature and our planet.

Speaking about the recognition, Dr Abraham shared, "The conferring of Knighthood was indeed a great personal honour, that too from a 750-year-old legacy institution. I was deeply humbled to represent India in this global forum for the important causes of ecology and environmental protection. I would like to strive to live up to the lofty ideals of this ancient heritage institution.”
The Guelph Party was born as a judiciary/political institution and was organised as a knightly brotherhood in the thirteenth century (1267) in Italy. In the 21st century, it is an archconfraternity founded on the feelings of charity and fraternal relationships between its members to carry out its activities through a national and international network. It now works on the key areas of ecology and environmental protection. Earning the title of Knight of Parte Guelfa signifies that the honorary member can act on environmental issues anywhere in the world.
Dr Christopher Abraham has 34 years of experience in management consulting, marketing and management education in India, Singapore and the UAE. He has three postgraduate qualifications in HRM, Business Administration (Marketing) and Labour & Administrative Law, and a PhD in Business Administration (Design Thinking & Innovation). He is a Certified Design Thinker from IDEO/Stanford and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM), UK. Dr Abraham is a 3-time TEDx speaker and an international keynote speaker. He has successfully presented at numerous global forums and conducted many consulting and executive development assignments for leading global organisations.
