This combination of real-world experience and academic pursuit means our faculty is uniquely positioned to shape and nurture future business leaders.

Our faculty members remain active within their industries while they teach. This gives them a deep understanding of the ever-changing needs of the corporate world. As a result, S P Jain's faculty has designed forward-thinking curriculums and use the most effective teaching methods.

Dr. John Lodewijks

Dean (Undergraduate Programs) & Professor of Economics

Professor Lodewijks completed a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney (First Class Honours), Master of Economics from the University of New England and a M.A and PhD in Economics from Duke University, USA. John spent 22 years as an academic economist at the University of New South Wales, Australia including the Head of Department of Economics. Thereafter, he was Head of the School of Economics and Finance at the University of Western Sydney for a further five years. He was awarded the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Teaching Excellence at UNSW and later received a Carrick Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning.

John has published over 100 journal articles and book chapters. The journals include Econometric Theory, Economic Record, History of Political Economy, Journal of Economic Surveys, Australian Economic Papers, Journal of Economic Methodology, and Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy. He wrote the Economics chapter for the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia Project on Postgraduate Training in the Social Sciences.

 

Dr. Indra Abeysekera

Dean (DBA & MAAF) & Professor of Accounting Professor Abeysekera has gained academic qualifications from diverse disciplines; PhD, MA, MCom (Macquarie University) MEd (The University of Sydney) MSc (University of Wales). He is also a chartered accountant in Australia, chartered management accountant, and CPA in Australia. He had held academic posts at Central Queensland University (Professor in Accounting and Finance and Discipline Leader), University of Wollongong (Associate Professor in Accounting and Associate Head), The University of Sydney (Senior Lecturer in Accounting), and Macquarie University (Lecturer in Accounting).

Professor Abeysekera has published over 100 peer reviewed articles across a range of academic disciplines: emotional capital, intellectual capital, integrated reporting, financial and non-financial accounting, knowledge management, and accounting education. Additionally, he has authored nine books: five research books, one textbook, and three other teaching books. Prior to joining academia, Professor Indra worked in 18 different organisations spanning the private and public sectors, both overseas and in Australia, as an employee in the early stages and as a consultant in accounting and business in the later stages of his career. These organisations include Coopers & Lybrand (now PriceWaterhouseCoopers), Toyota Finance Australia, Hawker de Havilland (now Boeing), Ansett Worldwide, GEC Alsthom, Unilever Australia, and U.S.A.I.D.

 

Dr. Partha Mukherjee

Assistant Dean (Undergraduate Programs), Director, Corporate Governance Programs  & Associate Professor of Management Professor Mukherjee has an engineering degree from from IIT Kharagpur, MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, PhD from the Business School of the University of New South Wales and possesses professional competencies, certifications and diplomas in project management and advertisement management from Australia and India. 

Over the last 35 years, Partha has managed, as Senior Executive and Director, substantial commercial businesses and complex projects across three continents in global multinational corporations in the financial services, pharmaceutical, FMCG industries, and public sectors in Australia. He has also worked as an educator and advisor in the universities and received teaching excellence awards.  He serves in the boards of two corporates as Directors, mentors aspiring project managers and is in the panel of judges of Australian Institute of Project Management for state and national annual awards in Australia. Partha is also engaged in various professional and community activities with Australia India Business Council and United India Association in Sydney.
