Prof Christopher Abraham, Professor and Head of Campus (Dubai), SP Jain School of Global Management was interviewed by The National, the Middle East's leading news publication, on UAE’s new permanent residency scheme.
The article titled ‘New permanent residency scheme will attract gold standard of young talent’ was published on May 22, 2019, in The National’s print and online editions.
In the article, Prof Abraham shared his views on the recent move by the UAE to grant a ‘golden card’ permanent residency to help attract the best international students to the country. The initiative was launched by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, on May 21, 2019, with the first batch of 6,800 investors and residents selected to receive the cards.
Prof Abraham highlighted that the UAE has a lot to offer which is why it attracts more than 200 nationalities. “When a scheme like this comes across, it would encourage students to look at Dubai as the location of choice.” He believes that a permanent visa will give researchers the impetus and motivation to stay in Dubai for longer.
