In the article, Dr Anoop talks about the concept of Construction 4.0, inspired by the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), that introduces digitisation and innovative technologies such as prefabrication, automation, 3D printing, virtual reality, drones, sensors, and more to assist project management in real-time decision-making. He highlights that while Agile methodologies offer significant potential for application in construction, there are challenges to their adoption, including cultural change, resistance to change, inadequate documentation, inadequate training, and lack of formal guidelines.

He adds, “Construction is risky, and sustaining this risky business in a high-risk environment needs an alternative project management methodology that can cater to these changes, reduce delivery times, improve customer satisfaction and improve return on investment.”
