Publications

  • As inaugural director, established three research centres at the University of Pretoria (Chair in Logistics - 1989), Johannesburg University (Centre for Logistics Management - 1997) and Victoria University (Institute for Supply Chain and Logistics - 2005). These typically included industry aligned Research Programs and Executive Development Programs in Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
  • Developed the Alliance for Supply Chain Innovation (ASCI), a collaborative research initiative between Australian Universities and Research Institutions on addressing industry-focused and sponsored Supply Chain Innovation
  • Extensive international teaching experience having taught in Europe, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia and Mainland China
  • Contributed to and published several industry-related research studies focused on logistics enablement for regional and economic development, supply chain benchmarking and performance measurement
  • Played a key role in the Moving South Africa project of the South African Government, which aimed to develop the country’s 20/25 years logistics infrastructure
  • Serves as advisor and/or coordinator of research reports and theses for students of MBA, Masters of Logistics Programs and several Industrial Engineering programs
  • Provided supervision of practical training of students from several international universities as part of the international student exchange program
