Internships are challenging work opportunities related to your major or intended career that encourage you to reflect and integrate your college learning in the professional world.
Through your internship experience, you will develop critical skills that new professionals need to be competitive in the workplace such as leadership, collaboration, curiosity, critical thinking, and problem solving. This is exactly what employer value most.
Arranging discussions regarding internships involves the following three key steps:

Step 2: Attend Internship Information Workshop
It is mandatory for all students to complete an internship information workshop. There are several workshops offered throughout the semester. Find the best suitable time and register for a workshop via the registration form.
Step 3: Schedule an appointment
If you have a rough draft of your resume and cover letter, please bring them to your first appointment. Request for a meeting with the Internship Manager.

Additionally, if you are considering interning and gaining valuable work experience in Australia, then we urge you to start thinking about your Australian visa application. To that end, we ask that you contact the Admissions Office to learn about the visa process.
Step 2: Schedule an appointment
During this session, you will learn about types of internships. If you have a rough draft of your resume and cover letter, please bring them to your first appointment. Request for a meeting with the Internship Manager. For enquiries regarding the visa process, please contact the Admissions Office or Contact an Immigration Agent or consult with the government's Department of Home Affairs (www.homeaffairs.gov.au)

Step 1: Declare your interest - submit an Internship Expression of Interest form to the Internship Program Office prior to the posted deadline. The form can be downloaded from the Resources page.
Step 2: Submit all required student assessment documents
Please be sure that the following documents have been submitted to the Internship Program Office:
Step 3: Pre-interview - schedule a meeting with the Internship Program Office to discuss internship opportunities and the visa process in more detail. Request a time to meet using the registration form.
Step 4: Company selection process - the Internship Program Office will send the Company its top recommended candidates. Final placement decisions are made by the Company. The Company will notify the Internship Program Office directly about all final placements.

Students can apply for an internship through our office only if they have completed the following mandatory requirements:
Internship Application & Selection Process:
Step 1: Internship announcement - the Internship Program Office will notify all students via email once internship opportunities become available
Step 2: Pre-interview - If interested and cleared by the internship office, then schedule a meeting with Internship Program Office to discuss the opportunity in more detail. To be cleared, you must have mandatory requirements completed.
Step 3: Company selection process - the Internship Program Office will send the Company its top recommended candidates. From these candidates, the Company will short list its preferred candidates and invite them for an interview. Please note that if you are not short listed by the Internship Program Office or the Company, you will be notified and placed in the queue for the next available opportunity. Final placement decisions are made by the Company. The Company will notify the Internship Program Office directly about all final placements.
Special note: The internship office will not place students in multiple internships at one given time. Please note that you can pursue internship opportunities on your own as well.

Your CV is always a work in progress - as you gain new experiences and add those to your resume, you'll remove older experiences that may not be as relevant to your career goals. We want you to be confident in your CV - please use the sample CV provided below to assist you in developing or updating your CV.
Interview Tips:
Practice is always recommended when it comes to interviewing. We recommend that you schedule a mock interview prior to your actual internship interview. Mock interviews are a great opportunity to become familiar with commonly asked interview questions and interview etiquette.
